Pleasantville

Easter has come and gone..... A new job and Autumn is upon us..... As things change they still remain the same... Well, almost. We had a great few weeks with glorious weather (mid to high 20's) and time to enjoy it. I have bought a new car as the old one is dying, slowly, and I need something reliable to commute to the city each day.

The boys were great today, helping with the car washing after football practice and a small snack at the shopping center (NO they did not get anything for a change). Then it was time to play outside, do some gardening and just have fun.

NOTE: Karl Jnr scored an awesome goal today and Martin's team won.

Holiday Camp Australia

Just a short post on the comings and goings....... It was another glorious weekend with weather in the mid 20's and loads of activities. For the 4th year in a row we were off to the GranPrix to enjoy all it has to offer...... (Its facilities are HEAPS better than the majority of European events.)

Sunday football (soccer for the uninformed) where Martin scored his first goal and a visit to the Mordialloc Food Festival that is held each year was the morning activity. Now its back home.... Some Wii / BBQ and well earned rest ready to take on Monday "bloody morning".

Getting Fat

OK OK, we get the message - We're getting fat. Excuse; Fattening up for winter, it will all be gone by Summer.

NOW - Back to March
The boys have started football at Aspendale FC. I snuck in Martin as he is the size of a six year old so they can have some fun kicking a ball around every Sunday morning (what was I thinking) at 9am. While the kids are running around the parents pass the time playing Draw Something.

If you have a job in Australia

While not quite in the same league as the fantasy world of the 70’s in South Africa, Australia is way up there with regards to unbelievable living standards. Natural resources with cultural stability make this a very easy place to live and bring up children.
I had my colleagues round for lunch last week and we enjoyed the great Australian produce available to all (we needed to as we had a vegetarian and a Muslim so bbq'ing was "interesting" to say the least).

Today we went on an 8km cycle to Mordialloc; we parked the bikes, enjoyed ice-creams and basked in the pleasant sunshine.
