Paynesville 2015

Family holiday to Paynesville. It's a place that time forgot. Once the French Riviera of Victoria, now a home the aged and the Bogan. Websites lie ! Riverside restaurants were empty and dilapidated, the high streets full of empty shops from a bygone era. The place was so desolate that even the fish had left. The food was ordinary to the point of forgetfulness and the ambiance was non-existent. The only silver lining was Raymond Island and the kids happiness of getting away. I love those two boys and someday I'll be a good dad.

Why can't everyday be like today

2015 has arrived and what better way to bring in the new year than with a few beers on the ocean, well Port Philip Bay actually. This time we launch at Patterson Lakes  and travelled out to about 12 meters to try and catch something...Channel 96 was full of "Where are the fish?" and " At least a bad day's fishing is better than a good day at work!", so we headed off to the beach with the thermometer hitting 40. We anchored off Carrum and the boys enjoyed diving in to the clear cool water.

School Christmas Carols

Christmas again! Boys had their Christmas concert at their new school. It was great seeing all the kids perform, and watching how they play the recorder.... or not in some instances :-) At least it looks like they enjoyed themselves whilst Mum and Dad sat on the hard ground slowly loosing feeling in the lower limbs. The boys have even brought home a few moves which they are beginning to build upon, watch out Justin!

PS. Santa has a small problem I think.

Martin's Birthday 2014

Martin turns 7, poor guy wasn't feeling that well on the day, and he had school, so we celebrated again on the weekend. They have moved schools and are enjoying the new one very much, bringing home a few surprise talents we weren't expecting :-)

The weather is finally warming up enough to get a slip and slide...the first of many for the summer. Plus, the veggie patch has got a life of its own, thanks to Seasol, I don't ever have to buy herbs again... anyone for tabouleh salad!

Happy birthday Marti
