Boxing Day

It was the quietest Christmas ever and one of the best, G cooked ham and we had delicious ham and cheese sandwiches in the garden were it was a sunny 27 degrees. This was followed by the best Christmas movie ever, Die-Hard. Today we stocked up on 7Eleven snacks and headed down to the beach. Really enjoying the time off.

Martin's 11th Birthday

Happy Birthday my BOY - 11 years today on the 11/11 (and 2018 adds to 11). All the best for the years ahead son and keep trying to be a 'sweaty try hard' in COD4. It was a busy day with brekkie, then golf and some food at the Naked Racer (also a motorcycle store) and then home for presents.

Japan - WOW

I've always wanted to go and now I'd love to know why I waited so long. If you want to see why homogenous societies work look no further than Japan. Not only do they have respect unseen in the western world, but they're also not fat and actually make an attempt to look good.
We stayed in Shinjuku (a suburb of Tokyo), then travelled to Kyoto on the Shinkansen where we cruised around on electric bicycles and then back...... If you haven't been there, do it, it's an eye-opener. I'd love to write more but we saw so much and there is so much more to see. We hope to be going back as soon as my bank manager gives me a nod. Next stop, however, is Singapore..........

Karl's 13th Birthday

My boy is now a man. Today was a big day that started in the usual fashion with early morning cake and the opening of presents. G went off to work and I took the boys go-karting at Le Mans. They started off slow but soon warmed up......... Once the racing and laser-tag was done the boys were starving so it was off for at Pho at Nha's Kitchen where Karl ordered his usual - 'Seafood Pho'. The afternoon was a Fornite-Fest while the adults relaxed outside with a cold beer or 6.

Fathers Day 2018

While I'm not one for those types that revel at the thought of some made-up-day I made an exception and booked lunch at Hofbrauhaus. We ordered the #FathersDay special and yours truly actually did the chicken dance with all the other fathers; my prize, a peach schnapps. Kids were great and fun was had by all.

Buller June 2018

What's not to love; 2.5 hours drive from home is one of the best skiing holidays a family could have. The only catch, it's bloody expensive but as a captive audience, you pay the #man. The weather was sublime; global warming provided us with 60cm of natural snow and gorgeous sunny days. So many great pics so I hope I picked the best. G wimped out again and still professes shell-shock from her skiing 'accident' 20 years ago in Austria..... Let it go, hun.

Hamilton Island and Sydney

What a great holiday with my mom and family. We flew to Hamilton Island and spent 4 days there before jetting off of Sydney for a couple of days so mom Neubauer can tick that off her list of places to see. The boys loved it and we all want to go back next year. Australia is truly a fantastic country with something for everyone. We are now looking forward to some skiing in a few months.

Moomba 2018 - Bring it on again

Another year, and for the first time in 8 years I've realised I live in the worlds most livable city..... While we miss Europe, we have everything here and I am so grateful. It was #Mooba again but sadly this time Martin had a cold so only Karl had a few rides before we walked around the city and had lunch at Belleville.

Taking the boat out

It's been a while folks but the boat is as fab as ever. G caught a decent sized flatty and we all had a great time swimming in the clean waters of Port Philip Bay just off Mordialloc. What more can one want? Later that day we headed off to the Mordialloc food and wine festival where we sampled tasty treats before heading off home to put our feed up.

Australian Open 2018

Another year and another Australian open. We were hosted by Toshiba and the little one and I kicked back to a tree course meal at 88 Melbourne before watching Australian's own Nick Kyrgios lose in 4 sets. One of the pictures is on the way back to the carpark on a warm summers evening in the worlds most livable city (see if you can spot Mark Webber in the pictures).
